Dr. Barcohana specializes in the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of spinal disorders involving the neck and back, utilizing microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Barcohana has fellowship training in spinal surgery, completing his specialty training at Southern California Orthopedic Institute. In addition to gaining expertise in innovative surgical techniques, he specialized in complex spinal surgery involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Subsequently, Dr. Barcohana joined the staff at SCOI. He has a special interest in minimally invasive techniques, which allow for shorter recovery times, reduced post-operative pain, less muscle injury, and a more rapid return to the normal activities of daily living. Dr. Barcohana grew up in Los Angeles, California. He attended UCLA and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, with college honors earning a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience.
